We're in the thick of CMAS testing, and it can be an incredible strain on everyone involved. Sometimes, positive thoughts, friendly words, and beautiful pictures can help relieve some stress and help people realize that it's not as bad as it seems.
Our own Mrs. Pipe (7th Grade) has created a wall of affirmations to help assuage student's anxieties about CMAS testing, and we just had to share it with everyone else.
CMAS is a very important part of public education in Colorado, and there can be a lot of anxiety tied to it - everyone wants to do their best, and the pressure can build and build. We're here to keep an eye on the students and make sure they don't burn out, but what will really help them is what parents do best.
Please, make sure your kids get as much sleep as they can. Feed them well, testing takes a lot more out of learners than we think it does. Most importantly, celebrate them. Let them know how amazing and capable they are. If they are concerned about how they did, reassure them, let them know that as long as long as they have tried their hardest, they've succeeded.
Remember, this is not a pass/fail sort of test. This is simply to figure out where we stand as a school in terms of educational markers.
We are insanely proud of all the students here. We are incredibly fortunate to be able to educate them, learn from them, and celebrate them, day in and day out. Thank you for allowing us this great honor.
The link below is the schedule for the 2024 CMAS testing times. Please make sure your student(s) are at the school in time to be able to test.
