Volunteering at JRCS

Parent volunteers offer a huge resource and support base for the school community.  We encourage every family to volunteer and support the school in any way they are able.  Our goal is for participation from 100% of families in the school. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Nathan Herald helps to survey parent interests and match individuals with volunteer opportunities that align with how individuals would most like to be involved.  Whether you have an hour each month or time every week, your support is deeply appreciated.

Class Parents & Volunteers
Supporting your child’s teacher and class is a wonderful way to be involved in the school. Speak to your child’s teacher directly about his/her needs. The teacher may need help during a celebration, on a field trip, or in various daily activities.

Family Council
The Family Council is a community of parents who support each other and the school in a variety of ways. We welcome and encourage parent participation in our activities, which provide fellowship, as well as funds for the school.

Fundraising
Juniper Ridge Community School is a tuition-free, non-profit school. Each year, the Family Council organizes fundraising events including the Autumn Carnival, Winter Book Faire, and Chili Cook-Off. Parents enjoy volunteering for these events as a wonderful way to support the school and get to know one another.

Enrollment
Support our Admissions team by volunteering to help organize and run Enrollment events including open houses, School Tours, and other events. We have ongoing and one-time projects to fit your interests and availability.

Building and Grounds
Help with the maintenance of our buildings along with the playgrounds, open space, and parking area.

To learn more about current volunteer opportunities or discuss a possible match with your knowledge, skills, interests, and abilities, please email nherald@juniperridgeschool.org. Again, many thanks for reaching out to us and for being part of our community!

Volunteers who will be volunteering in the classroom, on campus, or as a chaperone for a field trip, but not driving other students, are asked to complete a background check and submit it to our office prior to the day of the volunteering.

Volunteers who will be driving students for same day or overnight field trips must complete the following steps:
* Must be at least 21 years of age
* Complete the background/fingerprint process with CBI & D51 at the volunteer’s own expense
* Complete the Insurance and Driver Information form (see attached form)
* Provide current proof of Insurance
* Current registration information for the vehicle
* Provide a valid Colorado Driver’s License

A healthy social life is found when, in the mirror of each soul, the whole community finds its reflection, and when, in the whole community, the virtue of each one is living. – Rudolph Steiner
